THE CHALLENGE
In 1997, we were
doing quite a few special events at major trade shows and one of our vendors for security
credentials and printed marketing materials was T-Bird Entertainment Printing & Graphics. When
they needed a new web site, they looked to us. Creative Media seen a segment of the “Entertainment
Market” that they were not doing too much work with, and that was the convention circuit.
Thousand of printed lanyards, press kits, and unique “swag” are distributed at just one of these
major trade show. We literally took T-Bird’s president of sales and marketing, Seth Sheck to COMDEX
and E3. Walking the aisle with us introducing T-Bird’s creative services to exhibitor help
T-Bird to garner major corporate clients in the next year as a direct result of our efforts.
HOW
WE SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
We attend most major
conventions as a function of our editorial services, so we choose four that we were especially
aware of
that
used T-Bird’s products. We choose three technology conventions and a musical instrument convention.
Since most of T-Bird’s clients are well known entertainers including acts as varied as Patti
Labelle and Creed, the awareness of T-Birds products was already there. With some custom
e-mail’s letting exhibitors know what T-Bird does and printed samples being distributed to target
potential customers, the effort translated into sales from a major event planner and three company
accounts with minimal expense and effort.
The Result.
Based upon our
successful efforts, the company has had us implement an ongoing strategy that features promotional
efforts at conventions, a new web site design each year, and this year, Kiosks at the Pollstar
“Concert Industry Consortium” The largest convention for touring services that the company attends.
